Earrings become brooch

This was my first endeavour turning one thing into something else! In this case it was a pair of earrings, which I gave to a friend on her 40th birthday. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, depending on how you look at it, she didn’t have her ears pierced although I swear I saw her in a pair of earrings once. The resolution was to convert the earrings into a brooch. It took quite a bit of reworking and experimenting, but it was well worth it as the brooch is a million times cooler than the earrings.
